oding agents leave you waiting. Thirty seconds here, three minutes there. Not long enough to start something else, too long to just watch a spinner. Most people reach for a browser tab and lose the thread entirely.

Unwait fills those gaps. It sits in your macOS menu bar, watches your Claude Code and Codex sessions through their hook system, and puts one short card in the corner of the screen while the agent works. Read it or ignore it. It leaves on its own when the session finishes.

There are three kinds of card, and you choose which ones you see:

Language learning gives you a word or phrase with its meaning, a natural example sentence, and a translation. Cards you finish come back on a spaced repetition schedule, so the words stick instead of scrolling past once.

Domain knowledge gives you one concept from a field you pick, explained in a few plain sentences. Pick software engineering, security, product, AI and machine learning, or several, and set the difficulty per field.

Daily news gives you a short brief with the source link. Stories come from real outlets, never older than two days, and you can open or copy the link straight from the card.

When a session lands, a strip tells you which one finished, and one click jumps you back to that window. It knows the difference between an agent that is done and an agent that is blocked waiting on you.

What it does not do matters as much. It never takes keyboard focus, so your typing is never interrupted. It has no dock icon and no window to manage. There is no account, no email, and no password. Nothing about your code or prompts leaves your machine except the request that generates a card.
